Edit ROYAL VISIT, BRIDGETON, 1933

THERE was a time that the Prince of Wales - the future Edward VIII - enjoyed a level of popularity almost like that of a movie star.
On his visit to Glasgow, police were needed to control the excited crowds as the prince passed through Main Street in Bridgeton.
Little were these people to know that, in three years, the Abdication crisis would arise.
